DropShare Pro Privacy Policy

Effective date and last updated: September 13, 2026

Developer contact: eagle518@gmail.com

This Privacy Policy explains how the DropShare Pro Android application processes information when you use its local sharing, server, and Google Play license-verification features.

Key point: DropShare Pro does not operate a developer-owned business server for storing your files, messages, or sharing history. Core sharing takes place on your device or directly between devices you choose.

1. Scope and overview

This policy applies to DropShare Pro, package name com.cxxjava.chatdrop.pro, distributed as a paid application through Google Play. It does not describe the separate free edition of DropShare, which may use different services and has its own privacy disclosures.

DropShare Pro does not contain advertising, AdMob, the User Messaging Platform, advertising-ID functionality, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Payment for downloading the app is handled by Google Play, and the developer does not receive your full payment-card details.

2. Information processed

CategoryExamples and purposeWhere it is processed
User-selected contentFiles, file names, text, links, chat messages, and folders you choose to share, receive, browse, or manage. On your device and on recipient devices or browsers selected by you.
Connection and device informationLocal IP addresses, ports, device names, protocol settings, peer identifiers, connection status, and limited client or browser request information needed to establish and operate local transfers.Primarily on participating devices and across the network you use.
Local settings and credentialsApp preferences, server settings, locally configured usernames or passwords, cryptographic keys or certificates, trusted-device information, transfer state, caches, and diagnostic logs.Stored locally on your device and not automatically sent to the developer unless you intentionally export or share them.
License and integrity informationApp package, version, installation recognition, app-signing recognition, device or app integrity signals, Google Play license status, App Check tokens, IP address, and related technical information.Processed by Google Play Integrity, Firebase App Check, and supporting Google infrastructure.
Runtime configurationA small developer-managed configuration, such as license recheck interval, offline grace period, minimum supported version, or maintenance notice.Read from Firebase Cloud Firestore. It does not contain your shared files, messages, or local sharing history.

We process information only as needed to provide features you request, maintain app security and licensing, remember your settings, diagnose local problems, comply with law, and protect users and services from abuse.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing is based on providing the functions you request, our legitimate interests in licensing, security and abuse prevention, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where a permission or service specifically requests it. You may withdraw permission-based consent through Android settings without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

3. Local sharing and user-directed transfers

DropShare Pro can provide chat, HTTP, WebDAV, FTP, SFTP, LocalSend-compatible discovery and transfer, and related local-network functions. Content is made available only when you start or enable a sharing service, select content, configure an account, or connect to another device.

The people and devices you authorize may receive, copy, save, or further disclose content you share. You are responsible for selecting trusted networks, recipients, protocols, credentials, and access settings. Some protocols or configurations may not provide end-to-end encryption; use SFTP or another appropriately protected option when confidentiality is required.

4. Google Play and Firebase services

Google Play purchase and license

Google Play processes the app purchase, account entitlement, transaction, and payment information under Google's terms and privacy policy. DropShare Pro does not use the Google Play Billing Library for an additional in-app purchase.

Firebase App Check and Play Integrity

The release version uses Firebase App Check with the Play Integrity provider to determine whether the installation is recognized by Google Play and associated with a valid license. Google may process integrity, app, device, account-license, network, and diagnostic signals to provide this result. DropShare Pro receives a validation outcome or protected token rather than your full Google account credentials or payment-card information.

Cloud Firestore

The app performs a protected server read of a runtime-configuration document in Cloud Firestore. A successful protected request is used as a license-verification signal. Firestore is not used by DropShare Pro to upload your files, messages, contacts, local transfer history, or locally configured server credentials.

Google may retain and process technical request information under its own policies. See the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security information.

DropShare Pro does not intentionally include Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics runtime services.

5. Android permissions and their purposes

  • Internet and network/Wi-Fi state: create local servers, connect to devices, transfer content, discover peers, verify the Google Play license, and read runtime configuration.
  • Nearby Wi-Fi devices, Wi-Fi multicast, and location where required by Android: discover local devices and services. DropShare Pro does not use these permissions to build a location history.
  • All files access or storage access: let you select, browse, send, receive, and manage files across shared storage. Access is used for user-requested file-management and transfer functions.
  • Notifications and foreground service: show active server or transfer status and keep a user-enabled local sharing service operating while the app is not in the foreground.
  • Wake lock and battery-optimization exemption: help prevent an active transfer or server session from being interrupted by device sleep or aggressive battery management.
  • Run at startup: restart a local service after boot only when the corresponding auto-start option has been enabled.

You can manage permissions in Android settings. Denying a permission may disable the related feature but does not authorize the app to collect unrelated information.

6. Local storage, backups, and retention

Local settings, credentials, certificates, keys, logs, caches, received content, and transfer state remain until you delete them, clear app data, use an available in-app deletion function, or uninstall the app. Files saved to shared storage may remain after uninstalling and must be deleted using Android or a file manager.

The latest successful license-verification time and related policy values are stored locally with an Android Keystore-backed integrity check. They are normally refreshed during license verification and expire according to the configured review and offline-grace periods.

If Android system backup is enabled, eligible app data may be copied or restored by Android or your configured backup provider under that provider's policies and your device settings. Data processed by Google is retained according to Google's service rules and legal obligations.

7. Sharing, disclosure, and sale of data

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be disclosed only:

  • to devices, browsers, accounts, or recipients you select through a sharing or server feature;
  • to Google services described above for app distribution, license and integrity validation, and runtime configuration;
  • when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests, or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity; or
  • as part of a business transfer, subject to appropriate notice and continued protection.

8. Data security

DropShare Pro uses platform security controls, app sandboxing, Android Keystore protection for the local license record, access controls selected by you, and supported encrypted protocols. However, no device, network, protocol, or storage system is completely secure.

Use strong credentials, keep Android and the app updated, avoid untrusted networks, disable servers when not in use, and choose an encrypted protocol when sharing sensitive content. Local runtime logs may contain technical connection details, so review them before exporting or sharing them.

9. Your choices and rights

You can choose what content to share, which devices may connect, which protocol to use, whether a server runs in the background or after boot, and which Android permissions to grant. You can delete local content and logs, revoke permissions, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about processing. Because the developer does not maintain a central user account or business database for DropShare Pro, most app data can be controlled directly on your device. For Google-held information, use the privacy controls and request channels provided by Google.

10. Children's privacy

DropShare Pro is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information into a developer-owned server. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information in connection with the app may contact us.

11. International processing

Google services may process technical and license-related information in countries other than your own. Those transfers are governed by Google's contractual, legal, and security safeguards. User-selected local transfers are routed according to the devices and networks you choose.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when app features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted at this location with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or Google Play where appropriate.

13. Contact

For privacy questions, requests, or complaints concerning DropShare Pro, contact the developer at eagle518@gmail.com. Please do not include passwords, private keys, or sensitive file contents in your message.
